ABOUT FRANCES

I was born in Versailles in Paris, and moved around the world as a child, growing up surrounded by so many different places, people and cultures.

From a young age, I have always had a camera in my hand - I think as a way of celebrating and holding onto moments and relationships of an expat lifestyle. I started getting into photography seriously at the age of 13, when I got my first Camera, and I haven’t put it down since!

I’ve been to so many incredible countries, but Paris is definitely one of my favourite places to be, and whilst my French is a little rusty compared to how it used to be, I still visit my family there every year and visit the antiques markets in search of homewares! I absolutely love the aesthetic of the 1800’s, and I love to bring back pieces from our trips to decorate our home, whether its paintings or copper pans, or Delft tiles.

I now live in North Yorkshire in a little Yellow stone Georgian Cottage which I’ve been renovating with my best friend and Husband Ben, and our Three Dogs - Charlie our Spaniel, Fleur our Miniature Dachshund and Théo our Black Labrador.

Fleur in particular spends a huge amount of time on my lap whilst I’m editing weddings, so she always gets the first sneak peak on whatever I’m working on next!

We love our country life, aiming always to live more simply and reconnect with the natural world around us. We love to get out in the Garden or go for a dog walk in the fields around our home - especially in the Spring. We also love to get out to a National Trust or a walled garden - the more flowers the better.

We got married at Middleton lodge in 2021, and its still my favourite wedding venue of all time - the walled garden and the estate are my perfect style, and the team ensure that it looks beautiful at every time of year - its always a pleasure to go back.

Photography for me is about moments and memories - the unplanned, unnoticed and unposed, that a photographer captures in a way that holds what we remember. So much of my life is full of memories and places that I could not revisit except for the photos and films that I have taken, and that is something I have learned to be incredibly grateful for.

Sound like we’re a good fit? I’d love to hear more about your day.
